Why are mycobacteria such successful pathogens? And are there defence mechanisms in the body that help reduce an infection? We will work on this question with Annemarie Meijer (IBL, project lead), Sergey Nejentsev (Amsterdam UMC), Edith Houben (VU Amsterdam), Jakko van Ingen (Radboud UMC) and Tom Ottenhof (LUMC) in the coming 5 years.
